Well, I know you want this to be special so, I will give you something off my table that is sure to be a hit.

Broccoli & Rice
!/2 cup green onions, chopped
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1/2 stick butter
Saute; season with Season Salt.
1 cup rice cooked
Mix veggies, rice together with 1 can cream mushroom soup small jar cheeze wiz (jalapeno)
1 small bag brocholi
Put in a buttered casserole dish (I use 1 1/2 qt. square pyrex) for 30 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees.

I make this, too.
Sweet Potatoes
4 cups sweet potatoes or one very large can sweet potatoes
1 stick melted butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 tbs vanilla
3 1/2 oz coconut
2 eggs
Mix together and put in 13x9 inch dish.
Bake 25 minutes. Do not cover.
Make Top:
1 stick melted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1 cup chopped pecans
Melt butter add brown sugar, flour, nuts. Put on top of casserole and bake 20 minutes, uncovered, 350 degrees.

It is best to try a recipe at home first before taking it to a dinner. If you have any food groups you would like a Thanksgiving recipe for just email me. I make soooo many different things for that one meal every year.

If it is for a "Thanksgiving" dinner, make your husband's favorite dish from your normal holiday meal.

If you want to try something different -

"Dip"

2 large cans refried beans
2 pounds hamburger
1 large jar salsa (your preference)
2 pounds shredded cheddar cheese
1 pack taco seasoning
sour cream
tortilla chips

Prepare hamburger as directed on taco seasoning packet. When done, add refried beans and heat through. Then add 3/4 of the cheese and mix till melted. Put remaining cheese on top - serve with sour cream and chips.

If you need a dessert, make fudge, or get some almond bark and pretzels and dip the pretzels.

Whatever you take, I always make something I know my family will eat, just in case I have some to bring back home.

Cranberry chicken wings:
Have the butcher cut wings into three portions each.
Trash the tips or save them for soup.
make a sauce out of cranberries from the jar, Russian dressing [ the dark red one ] and onion soup mix.Adjust amount for amount of wings.
Put wings in a large foil baking dish, add sauce and cook at about 325-350 for an hour or so. Bring lots of napkins.
Everyone will love it.
Plz note this can be used with regular chicken pieces but the wings make a nice presentation for a party.
Have fun

If you can make a dessert I have a recipe to dye for! It is requested when I am visiting and have to bring a dish.

You will need:
1 package of German choc. cake mix
1 large tub of cool whip
1 bag of Crumbled heath bar or 6 Health bars
3 small packages of Jello cheesecake pudding mix

Prepare everything then layer in a large bowl, first some cake, then pudding, then cool whip then crumbled heath bar, you should have enough to layer twice..... It's wonderful, serve it with a spoon, good luck, email me if you have questions.

CrockPot Sausage and Peppers
Mild Italian sausage (10 links)

Crushed tomatoes, large can (non concentrated)

3 green bell peppers

2 red bell peppers

½ yellow onion

Minced garlic, 1 tablespoon

Black pepper, 1 teaspoon

Cut sausage links into 3’s. brown in skillet. Cut peppers and onion into wedges. Add all ingredients in large mixing bowl and mix together. Place in crock-pot on low for 4-6 hours. (How long depends on your crock-pot, browning the sausage before ensures it is cooked well and gets rid of some of the grease)

There you go yum yum

Banana Pudding. It always disapears.
Mix up two packages vanilla instant pudding with 4 cups milk and layer in a pretty bowl with a layer of pudding, layer of vanilla waffers and a layer of sliced bananas. Continue layering until pudding is gone with pudding as your last layer. Decorate top with more wafers.
