You are not losing your hearing, but you will hear a little less due to the ringing. It is the air rushing in your ear canal It is called Tinnitus, ( I think I spelled it right )nerve transmits impules to the brain it is the vibration produced from the external soundswaves ( like air) rushing. I have it ,for the past 7 years now.
But your Dr. can tell you more.

Due to constant noises throughtout the day, a slight ringing is caused in your ear. This is simply a brain response..
But it's that you can't hear the ringing until you go to sleep, because your room is much more quiet.

No you are not losing your hearing. The ringing is simply your body sliping in to stage 1 sleep. Its nothing to be alarmed with.
