I know that feeling. I have tattoos and my ears are stretched, I get looks. But seriously, this is a great time to be the way we are! There are really only a few generations left that find this offensive! It is more commonplace now to have some sort of piercing or tattoo. Just like everyone else said.. you know you are a good Mommy, and so do your babies. Forget what the rest of he world thinks!

It's unfortunate. I have several tattoos myself. The only visible tattoo I have is a cheshire cat, which actually gets alot of compliments. I guess I can tell my kids I really have eyes in the back of my head (neck), as when I'm not wearing a collared shirt, you can see the cats eyes peering over the top of the shirt!
Don't let it bother you too much, though. It's hard, but it's best just to ignore people that give you dirty looks. If someone feels they're making an exceptionally witty remark about your parenting skills based on your tattoos, just make an exceptionally witty retort.
It's art. Tattooing dates back a ridiculous number of years and originated mostly for spiritual purposes, tattoos of specific symbols were believed to protect the tattooed person.

Yea that is just sad. Unfortunately people stereo-type and there is nothing you can do about it. Just because one has tattoos does not make them any better or worse at parenting. When will people realize that your personal style has nothing to do with whether or not you're a good person. Im very sorry to hear that people judge you based on tattoos. My sisters b/f has several tattoos and he is one of the best parents out there and one of the nicest guys too. And some of us have come far enough in society to realize that tattoos are not a sign of anything other than someone being creative using their body. Unfortunately there are those that will forever stereo-type!!!!

You have to rethink your profession offerings. Your mom is proper for not paying on your school in the event you insist at the tattoo. It could be a waste of cash in view that the probabilities of you being hired are slender as an RN. You may even must dispose of the jewellery from the pierced places. Look for a profession which permits you to precise your self and no longer waste your mom's cash on school in view that you're having a problematic time know-how what it's going to take to be a legitimate. If you grow to be an RN, you are going to see simply how hideious tattoos seem on older individuals because the frame alterations. Most remorse what they did to their our bodies after they had been more youthful and specifically after they uncover one of the crucial matters are dependable for his or her sicknesses later.

I know it sucks. I have 2 tattoos and 2 kids and I always see people looking at me when my tattoos are visible. Just go on being a good parent like you already are and be content with the fact that you are a good parent. No matter what the others think of you and your tattoos. Who cares what those goody goodies think?

I have a couple of tatoos, I am a very dedicated mom of 3 and one on the way, and I also have an eyebrow piercing. Does say I am a no good mom? I should hope not. I have these things because I wanted to. I really could care less what people think. Of course, my father just did his usual TSK and sigh with a small smile! :)

I thought we had come further as well. As common as tattoos have become, there is still a stigma attached. In my area, they are greatly frowned upon (small town, conservative mid-western state). I am now in my second trimester and have numerous tattoos and a visible piercing. Some still see tattoos as rebellious, un-christian, and even (as I've been told I am) disgusting. Myself, I feel bad for such small minded people. They miss out on many things in life, and many good relationships.

I know what you mean, the sad thing is that when you go to the hospital to have your baby and you have visible tattoos, one of the papers they make you sign without really telling you what it is is a drug screening test. They assume that because you have tattoos your a drug addict. I have several tattoos and am pregnant with my second child. My husband is covered with tattoos and the looks he gets just being in public with his pregnant wife and our two daughters, are like he doesn't deserve to have a family because he has tattoos. Maybe one day people wont judge our parenting skills because we choose to have body art and our choice to express ourselves. Here's hoping!

Yeah I know how you feel, but for some reason I don't think it is going to change anytime soon. It is somewhat better than it used to be but I think more for men. It seems to me it is OK for a man to have a tattoo, but when a woman get's them people think she is trashy. CRAZY. I look at it as art. I always wanted to be artistic, but unfortunately I am not, so what better way then have some art on your body? Anywho the way I look at it , let them think what they want you know that you are a good parent.

I am a mom with MANY tattoos, and yes I get judged. But I didn't get my tattoos for the whole world to like them I got them for me! Yes I get the occasional dirty look, but hey it's me if they don't like it they can get over it. I don't feel as bad when I'm with her dad though, he is tattooed from the ankles up. Our marks are what make us who we are. I call mine battle scars. But let them go, it has NOTHING to do with your abililty. But some old farts are still in the 1900's. Let them go it's there problem anyways.
