My first birth I was 16 and it was hell so I won't tell you that one. LOL Just had a lot of complications. My second was great I walked a lot to help with delivery and I used one of those exercise ball and went around in circles sitting on it to help and thin me out (great in labor too)
You can also try using Evening primrose oil caps take 3 orally and insert one in vagina it acts a dilator just as sperm does to help in the thinning i used it and in 3 days I was 2 cm. My friend did it and had her baby the next day.
As long as you try and stay as comforable and relaxed a possible you should do fine. Also I found after an eperidural it was a lot harder to recoperate. I didn't have one with my second and I was ready to go home after birth with my first I did and with that and complications with stitches I had problems walking and sitting for 3 weeks.
Good Luck! And rememer you won't remember the pain once you see your baby's face, it is so worth it.
Also I you don't get the epidural you do feel burning as your passing the baby's head (feels like your on fire) No one told me and I wasn't impressed (just incase you didn't know)

Well, I don't have one of my own; thank God all my labor and deliveries were fine - painful because I had all of them natural - but fine. However, we did have a scare just a couple of weeks ago when my grand daughter gave birth to her first baby. She was in labor and towards the end they lost the baby's heartbeat and did an emergency C-section. The baby had the cord wrapped around her neck. All is fine though. She's a real cutie. I do have a funny story though - when my last child was born I was 39. It was my only boy. I live in Arizona and the temperature in May, June and July are terrible. Estevan was not due until August but I could no longer stand it and on July 27th I sat watching TV at about 6 pm and I drank some caster oil. They say that precipitates contractions. I didn't know how much to drink, so I drank the whole bottle, little by little. At 10 I had the runs, but all during the night I had little contractions not bad at all, like with my other children. I got up took a shower and went to the clinic. Sure enough I was already 6 cm dialated with no real pain. The midwife told me she'd meet me at the hospital within the hour. Well, I had to go wake up my kids and husband, get them showered, dressed and fed, pack a bag, pick up film for the camera, so I didn't show up at the hospital until about 2:00. The Midwife was frantic. I just kept having small pains. Well, I was 8 cm when I got there. And the pains continued that way until about 3:30 when I started having some major ones, but only about 12 of them, because Estevan slid out. He came out pooping and pooped all over the midwifes shoes. I gave her a gift certificate for her to buy herself another pair. He was the only one of my kids that did not have cholic. I guess the cleaning before birth helped.

It will definitely be painful, but everyone has different degrees of pain with delivery. I have 2 kids, both of their labors were very different. My first labor was spontaneous and went for about 8 hrs, the second was induced and even though the pain was more intense, it was a MUCH quicker labor and delivery. It doesn't matter how bad it hurts though, or women would never have multiple children. The end product is so worth it, it really is. I was only 18 having my first child (21 for the second) and I was terrified of the pain. While I was laboring I just kept telling myself "I can do this". You'll be fine and look back on it with fond memories believe it or not!

Both of mine were a breeze because I decided they would be. Mind over matter and a positive attitude helps a lot!
As for your cyst, my sister had endometriosis that gave her awful cramps before having a baby, 3 years since giving birth and it hasnt come back yet! So here is hoping it works as well for you!
Other advice and whatnot:
Get the epidural, they dont give out awards for suffering, so why put yourself thru it when there is a safe way to manage the pain?
Do not be embarassed if you poop on the table, just push push push and dont worry, they see it all the time.
Dont feel you are a bad mom if you decide not to have the baby room with you. You will have been thru a lot and will be tired. If you dont want a crying baby in with you, rest assured there are qualified professionals who understand and will take great care of your baby and bring it back as soon as you are ready.
It is an amazing experience and you will forgot the pain the second that last toe clears the birth canal! Congrats!

i was 19 when my son was born, and to be honest i had a wonderful delivery. i was induced also. which i thought was great because i didn't have to worry about my water breaking in the middle of the night or anything. i was not dilated very far and they gave me something in an iv to start my contractions, they were actually more uncomfortable than painful. they went ahead and broke my water a few hours later and thats when my contractions were just to uncomfortable for me so i had an epidural, it numbed me from the waste down and i had no idea when the contractions were coming except for watching the monitor.that was about 10am i then went to sleep and at 2pm the nurses checked me and told me to start pushing. at 2:20 i had a beautiful baby boy 8 lbs and 6 ounces,im actually pretty small (5'1" and at the time 130lbs) so believe me the epidural works wonders. honestly the only pain i had was after the epidural wore off my back hurt a little and i had to be cut and had a few stitches which were a little sore, but of course none of that mattered i had a wonderful baby who needed to be fed. im now 22 and expecting my second baby boy in march and cant wait!!!!! try not to worry to much and don't let other peoples horror stories about birth bother you to much.congrats and good luck!!!!!!!!

With my last child, number 3, who was born in August, I started having high blood pressure and was like 2 cm dilated at my 12:00 appointment the went ahead and induced me. I think that begiunning contractions just feel like stomache cramps. The more contractions you have they get worse and worse. This was the first time the doctor had to break my water. I think that was the most painful part. I took the epidural and as soon as it kicked in it was a breeze. I have very fast labor and delivery and at 6 i started having this feeling of pushing. The doctor got ready and we began. My sons cord was wrapped around his neck so we stopped and cut the cord and with one more push he was out.
With all 3 of my children it went very quickly. With my second I didn't have any kind of pain medication at all. My water was broke beofore I got to the hospital and I had to deliver in the ER part of the hospital. I remember it hurting, but i don't remember any of the pain, how bad it was or anyhitng.
My first child was easy delivery. That was the only time I had like 5 to 6 people in there with me and they drove me crazy. You are in pain and they are laughing and having a good time and people can get very annoying, lol.
Every birth is a different experience, but they are all remarkable. Good Luck!! and Congrats!!

It is the worst most miserable pain that you'll ever have!!!
I had a failed epidural then later had to be put to sleep for a c-section which was heaven compared to the labor.
BTW- your cysts will come back after delivery. Getting pregnant was NOT a cure. Birth control pills and a low carb diet can help prevent cysts...

epidurals are good if they are administered properly.I thought the same thing.I was in labor with my son for 23 hours with no drugs. They gave me the epidural and NO it did not numb me I felt everything. The administer of the drug did not properly insert the needle so not only did I have all the labor pains but now almost 4 years later I have aching back and massive migraines from the epidural.Point is you will never know what to expect.Everyones crazy about the epidurals but alot of times they dont work depends on your body,if they administer it right or on time.So if you want it make sure they know that in advance.I also went through that with my daughter who is now 9 months.I dialated so quickly that i could not get epidural so that was au natural to.I hope everything works out and congratulations on ur soon to be new baby. And by the way it dosent matter the pain you go through you will forget all about it as soon as you hold your baby.

my first birth was agonising, mainly because i didnt no what to expect and so panicked making pain worse. second child i only had about ten mins of really cant stand anymore pain, i was prepared and calm and believe this helped me alot. gas and air is great, pain is still there but its like ur no longer in your body so it doesnt affect you so much. the minute baby is born, pain is gone completely. i would describe worse contractions like a period pain with 100 times the strength and when the head is coming you feel a burning between your legs.
Although pain is horrendous at the time it cant be that bad because lets face it millions of women do it then go on to do it again and again.
This time next week youll be the happiest woman alive, good luck and god bless

i was twenty when i had my 3month old baby girl. My labor ended in a c-section cause the ambilical cord was around her neck twice. I was in labor for 12 hours before they decided to do a c-section. I really didnt feel any pain cause i had the epidural and every time i felt pain i would push the button to get some more of the epidural medication in me so i would not feel anything. If you dont take pain really well i would recommend the epidural cause it is the best thing to help ease the pain.
