it shouldnt be a time limit....as long as it takes...to get to know the person...flaws and all.....and you are still comfortable....you can usually tell when the time is right.

There is no time period on how long should a couple date before getting married. How soon do couple get married depends on many factors such as how well you've known each other, your ages, and what you're looking for in the relationship... etc. You should get married as soon as you feel the time is right.

I think it should be about 1 1/2 yr. .....Life is short. Keep it moving.
well i dated a guy for 3 yrs we had such a great realtionship however i wanted to know how much longer was he (kasaun) gonna rent the cow before he purchased the milk. He was saying i want to have more money blah blah blah anyway i decided that it wasn't healthy for me emotionally or mentally to continue the relationship because i really wanted to be married and he didn't share the same interest obviously so i had to leave him. Wierd, cause when i left him he came banging my door down telling me how sorry he is and how much he realized he loved me and he wanted to get marrired, but i couldn't cause i felt like i pressured him and he wasn't doing it cause he wanted to deep down inside. I never got back with him but we still talk on the phone once in a blue. We will always love oneanother.

idk. My parents dated 5 years. And then they got pregnant with me. So they got married. They didnt have to get married but they did.
They have been together ever since (26 years)

I think a few good years is good.

Me and my bf have dated almost 6. And we are still learning things about each other.

Even though I would like to get married now, its just not on the agenda.

I have known people to date 1-2 years and getmarried.

I think thats too early myself.
People change.

There is no time limit. You two should get married when you feel that your relationship is strong enough to acquire a big step like this. You must take time to get to know one another before you get married though, thats essential.

i think to really know a person you have to date them for about 2-3 years because if you get married quickly then it is most likely that you will get a divorce quickly because you had problems with them. If you wait you can be happy with the person you are with

There is no set answer. It depends on the people involved; their ages, their past...so much.

But I use the 6 month rule. After dating for 6 months (& not sexual) you should know a person well enough to either continue the relationship or break up.

I don't think there is any set amount of time that you have to date someone. As long as you feel that you know and can trust the individual

That would have to depend on how well you want to know the person that you are marrying. You don't want to go into a marriage filled with surprises.
