Check out www.nats.org for a list of voice teachers in your area. To belong to this organization, voice teachers have to have had experience and have been recommended by another member, so you are more likely to get someone good! Or, you can contact a local music school (any universities or colleges that have a good music program) and ask for names of the teachers there. They should be able to lead you in the right direction as well.

Try www.iclickforlessons.com and www.craigslist.com On craigslist, go to services and you will see lessons. Click on it and then put in a search for voice. Both sites are nationwide. You might also buy a Musician's Connection Magazine and check their classifed ads.

If nothing else, you could check the Detroit yellow pages. You might try going to music (instruments and sheet music) stores to see if anyone there has any advice. Good luck.
