YES! And it hasn't really ever stopped. My "baby" is 7 years old and I still lose 50 - 100 hairs everytime I wash my hair and blow it dry.

Yes, this is perfectly normal. Many people think it has to do with hormones which is truly not the case. It's pretty simple: What happens during pregnancy is that our bodies hold on to every nourishment for the baby. It is common to lose 50-80+ hairs each day and when we're pregnant this number decreases dramatically because our body is holding on. When the baby finally comes and we begin to get back to "normal" (Are we ever normal after children? hehe I know I've lost my mind!) our body will not only shed the 50-80 hairs each day but it will drop the hairs we would have dropped during the 40 weeks of pregnancy. This usually begins when we stop breastfeeding or obviously sooner if one chooses not to breastfeed. But when it happens, it seems like a lot of hair because it's all at once. Wait till you see how silly it looks when all that hair comes back in! yipes. But I used a system called Nioxin after my daughter's birth. It helps keep more hairs in your head so it's not so drastic.

I experienced this situation 3 months after delivering my second baby, he is three now and I am still losing my hair. But for most people this condition does not stay very long, as your hormonal activity becomes normal hair loss stops, in the mean time take care of your hair as much as possible, eat balanced diet and do not use chemicals like dyes on your hair...GOOD LUCK.

I lost most of my hair during my wife's first pregnancy. The rest fell out during the next 18 sleepless months after the birth.

You need oils and were you taking your pre natal vitamins? Your hormones are out of whack so go to your gyn.
