According to some religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam), God spoke directly to a select few, whom He chose to be His prophets to spread His word. God is omnipresent and omnipotent, so why wouldn't He use His all-encompassing power to send His message directly to everyone, rather than to a select few?

I'm not saying that it isn't possible for others to learn from the prophets. However, I can't help but think that it would've made more sense if God had communicated directly to EVERYONE instead of to a select few. He can do that, you know. He is God, after all.

Even durring the earthly ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ, people who heard the father speak said that it thundered, or God said something other that what he did say according to the scriptures. So, God needed one indidvidual to get it right and copy it down for the others to accept. These special people were more in tune with God than the regular worldlings creeping around, as it is today as well.
God does send generic messages through nature. (Not the destructive kind, they come from a different quarter entirely) Through astronomy, and the sciences, the arts, etc.

Assuming God existed and the Bible was true, then one could theorize that God chose people who would be most receptive to his message and relay it with great success. These would be people who for some reason or another could influence people into believing what they are being told. I personally think these people are bunch of crazies who need to get a social life or mental therapy. In conclusion, God chooses people who do the work for him since they can influence the masses. This leaves the question, "Why cannot God do it himself?" The only answer could be that he needs human representatives to show that he is what he claims to be. Celebrity advertising at its finest.

It is His divine knowledge, we just don't understand. But u said it, there are an elect few (that's even in the bible in revelations, that Jesus will come in time to save the elect from mankind's own extinction from earth) that just have been chosen, or learned in the words of the Father. We all have the same choices to make in life, to be loving & sinless for the glory of the Father. Or quite the contrary, evil, hating proud sinners who have not the concept of God nevermind being thankful to Him. "A single grateful thought raised to heaven is the most perfect prayer." ~Gotthold Ephriam Lessing

God wants us to have free will. He chose a select few to give His message to the people. Those that wished to obey would. Now if the heavens opened and we heard shouts from the heaven that would kinda make EVERYONE listen. He wants only those that are true of heart and obey without his constant and direct interfearence

God is not the author of chaos, but order. In the Old Testament times, He had ordained several prophets in the same dispensation, but today, in this the last dispensation, there is only one authorized to pass on to the world God's word and instruction.

Open your mind, anyone that wants to know the Maker of the universe IS God's chosen ppl. We are all ultimately brothers and sisters, aren't we?
The jews were God's original chosen but as ppl evolved into wanting to know him, we all became the Jeruselum(God's ppl) mentioned in the Bible.
