I wish I could help her see the positive in things and life. Things in her past have caused her much pain, I know. I try to be a good person and positive if I can. It hurts me to see my mom live her life like this. I really love her and want her to be happy. For instance, regarding Christmas. I love the Christmas season. Yes it is stressful and expensive. But my mother just complains and says "I hate Christmas". I am so sad for her. I wish I could help her be happy.

Its hard to be put in that spot but happiness has to come from within. You might be able to help her through whatever is really hurting her. Just ask her what she is struggling with and talk to her.

There are people out there who are either pessimistic or optimistic....that's life. Maybe she is getting tired of some people in general and life experiences, and now she "doesn't give a f**k" anymore. I am pessimistic, and I am this way because of some of the stuff I have been through, and I choose to live my life realisticly, not hope for things that may not be. Just because someone is this way, does not make them depressed. Unless she is showing other signs, then I would suggest help. Good luck! :)

eit's hard to make someone else happy. that's something they can only do. they have to look into themselves to try to find where ths real pain is coming from and find their way to cope with it. it's sad that she hates Christmas. why not tell her that most people do get stressed at this time - but, why doesn't she think of the real meaning of what Christmas is - it's not spending tons of money on gifts - it's bringing the Christ Child into your home and heart. it's a beautiful day - think of love not hate - and make it a precious day with a family she gave birth to and who loves her very much.
