I went to the vet, and he has been coughing worse then usual. An they have to give him chest x-rays, and blood work done. Is this bad, or good? Thanks for the input.

Would it be good for them to find out what the problem is???

Just the sign of a good vet IMO. Did they also do a test for heart worms? May be checking for an upper respiratory infection also. The blood work will tell him if the dog has an infection.

It's good that they are looking into it for you x-rays are the only sure way of finding out just what is going on .They can also learn a lot from a blood test.

It sounds like they couldn't find enough evidence of an obvious illness and they just want to be sure that they don't miss anything. It's pretty normal procedure where I work. Many of the dogs end up going back home with medicine.
