Cats don't like change. When you bought him home, you should have confined him to a single room. This will allow him to get used to his new surroundings. After a couple of days, open the door to this room. He will venture out and explore. It will take a couple of days, but he will soon be used to his new home.
Good Luck

do you have something that you took him home in or with, from the old place he was before coming to your home? Maybe a towel, carrier, or toy? Because when I brought my kitten home a few weeks ago, he was a little shaky and weird as usual, but he seemed to feel most comfortable in the kitty carrier that I bought from the breeder, because I think it still smelled like the breeder's home and it made him comfy. Also, don't ever force him out of his hiding spot but when he does come out for attention give him lots of touching, touch his paws, his face and his tail so he is used to being touched everywhere, and let him sleep on your chest or near your head so he can hear your heartbeat.

He is probably scared of his new surroundings. We just got a new kitten about a month ago, and for the first day or two we didn't see him. After he acclimates to his new home he should come out of hiding. Just make sure that you leave his litter box and food out. Good luck with the kitten.

A kitten can be overwhelmed by all the space in a new home. It is best to confine him to a small space with all his needs, food, water, littbox etc. Let him out when you can to hold in your arms, talk to and pet. He will indicate when he is ready to go "exploring" new spaces. So do it gradually. He will soon be all over the place when he overcomes his fears at the strangeness of the new situation and comes to totally trust your caring, loving ministrations.

When i got my kitten he did the same thing. My cat had 7 brothers and sisters so i think that when i got him home he really missed them. I would find him hiding in clothes and other places where he felt secure. I think he looked for things to cuddle with since he missed his siblings. He grew out of it...i would let him cuddle in a blanket with me and he liked that too!

He is still scared. Let him hide when he sleeps etc, but make sure you spend a lot of time holding him in your arms and showing him love and petting him, this is the only way that he will get over his fear and start trusting you. After about a week he should be fine.

He needs both, the kitten is scared and not sure where he/she
is, so just try to make it comfortable for him and he will adjust.
My daughters had so many kittens before, that I've seen them
go from hiding to running, purring in your ear to learning how to
jump from furniture to furniture. He'll adjust just fine TLC is the
best answer anyone can give you.

If you got a new kitten treat it the same way as you would if someone new in the family or friend comes. Your kitty will hide only if someone will scare it. Your kitty is also not used to the new surrounding he is in. Yes give your kitty love and attention.

he's just been taken away from his home, his mother and brothers and sisters and thrown into a new environment by himself...of course he's freaked out!
i say let him have some time to adjust and have the feeling of security he gets from hiding...
you might entice him out of hiding with special treats or toys...
he'll become less and less frightened over time (kittens usually warm up to new things pretty quickly)...
good luck
