A year ago I was running regularily. Had just finished my third marathon (which I PRed) and decided to take a 3 month break to keep from getting an injury. The three months turned into six and now it's soon to be a year. I've run every once and awhile since but can't seem to get back into my routine. It feels mucher harder than it did when I first began. Is there a reason for this and what can I do to get back on track? (My butt will thank you.)

Maybe the motivation is not there, you did it already so it's not as exciting as the first few times you did one. If you have done the same one, pick a new one.Travel get a group to go. Register and then you have to train. Pick a fun one, make a mini vacation for the family or a girls trip That's what I did and I am looking forward to it next fall

Try running as soon as you wake up or as soon as you come home from work. If you exercise immediately before or after something that's regularly in your schedule, the exercise becomes part of your regular schedule as well. It's easier to do it if you dont think about it.

If youre still having trouble getting motivated, ask someone talk to every day to ask you if you ran on a daily basis and how long it was since the last time you ran. If someone asks you every day if you ran and you say no, and it's been 11 days, you start to feel guilty. If nothing else, maybe you can guilt yourself back into it. You have to ask the person to be kind of mean to you for it to work though...
