I want to lose at least 1 or 2 pounds a week but don't know how to do it.

I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.

It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.

It should be easy to find websites that will help you figure out how to lose weight. Burn more calories than you put in and drink lots of water.

As for tracking your weight loss, this site is great: www.fitday.com

Also make sure you take measurements once a week or so to also track your loss.

type in Real Age on your computer keyboard. in addition to receiving information about losing weight you can find out your real age and how to add years to your life by making a few changes. you will also get information telling you how how to burn calories more efficiently and how many calories you need to have each day in relation to your daily activity. And if you want to count your cal, try www.thedailyplate.com. It will suggest how many cal you should eat to lose 1-2 lbs per week and tells you how many cal are in everything you eat. You just type in the food and it's in their database!
