Turning 18 and being able to get the hell out of Dodge. Some of us had such horrific childhoods and our parents found ways to make our most joyous days hell. Even the good times are tainted with some bad memory.
I love to hear about other people's childhoods and fortunately my own children have many good memories. When we are together we reminisce and laugh a lot. WE have lots of family traditions especially around the holidays.

Grandparents are great aren't they? My favorite memory is all the times I spent with my Grandmother in her kitchen baking together. Holidays were the best!
Now everyone is gone, my grandparents and my parents. But thankfully, I have a lifetime of beautiful memories with all of them.
Bless you.

I have 2.
1. When me and my older sister were little, we used to borrow our mother's recipe book and pretend to eat all of the cakes in the pictures. lol, I know it's silly, but I remember having so much fun doing it.
2. As a child, I didn't have any beauty marks and I always wish I had them. I would cry to my mom and ask her why I don't have any, and everyone else in the family does. She used to tell me that God doesn't give beauty marks to people who are already beautiful.

Creeping down the stairs with my two brothers on Christmas Morning, i ALWAYS had to be first as i am the eldest.
One Christmas my youngest brother w anted a chopper bike, and we went into the sitting room to open our presents - no bike ! Then we went to have breakfast and there it was in the kitchen , purple it was, he let out the loudest scream you have ever heard and the look on his face was priceless !
