I know there should be a shared responsibility, but shouldn't it be more of a mom to teach the girl, and a dad to teach the boys. What about single moms raising boys or single dad raising girls, how does the "Talk" happen, what can they explain?

OK,this is what i would do......if you are the single mom just tell them what happen the first time you had sex. be up front and ask them questions, see what they kn ow or what they think they know and tell them the truth, i mean if your a single mom you need to be up front with them ,the bond is stronger between you to, right.

I think same gender too but in the case of single parents, it may not be possible unless you have a trusted adult of the same gender to do it instead.

easy, well for me it is, just sit down with the boy or girl, and explain it. being a paramedic, its easy for me to talk about the human body, on both sexs. but parents should talk to their kids

well i think they should tell them that take responsibilty for your actions.. you can have as much sex as you want but if and godforid something wrong goes on, take responsibilty for it not jsut blame it on someone else and leave it.
