not checked thermostat yet or coolant tank cap but levels are fine does the hot to cold dial/switch directly control that solenoid valve (the one under the windscreen)

check the control knob switch it out with one of the other knobs to see if it may be broken. the other thing to check is to make sure the arm on the door motor is connected

you don`t tell us what you want the car to do, blow cool air or air-conditioned air, bet hrer is a starting point. remive the heater control valve and blow through it like the hot coolant would flow if the car was running and dertimine if the valve is normally open or closed. turn the key on don`t start the motor, but plug the valve back in and see if there is a differnce in the flow.does the dial/switch control shut off coolant to the heater core or does it control doors under the dash in the phleman chamber.

if it will only blow hot air it could be that the engine is not getting hot but that the selector door in the heaterbox is not working properly
