Actually it depends. Typically wheat bread is better for you provided it lists whole wheat as its first ingredient. Enriched whole wheat is not nearly as good for you. There are some white breads out there that actually have more fiber and fewer calories but you have to look for them. Where I am, there is a store named Kroger. They make a light white hot dog and hamburger bun with equivelant fiber and fewer calories than a whole wheat bread. If you're super health consious, you can look at some organic breads that are made without high fructose corn syrup...better yet. As far as taste goes, I think white is better but I gave it up a long time ago opting for the healthier choice.

Read the label on the packages of the respective bread loaves, because usually wheat bread is considered to be more healthy but Pepperage Farm has now come out with a white bread that is supposed to be whole wheat.

Usually, whole wheat bread is considered to have more vitamins and nutrients than bread made from bleached flour (white bread). Whole wheat bread is also higher in fiber.

Actually, homemade wheat or multi-grain bread is the best.

Each has a legitimate place in your diet. Whole grain breads, as opposed to mere "wheat bread", have more of the grain than does bread made from refined white flour. That's important, especially for older folks like me, who often need more "roughage" in our diets.
Small children often have much more exquisitely sensitive taste buds than do older children and adults, and the stronger flavors in whole grain breads can be a bit overwhelming for them - which is why a great many small children much prefer white bread. If they get a well-balanced diet overall, it won't hurt them to allow them to indulge that preference and to learn the benefits of whole grain bread at a later age.
BTW - some brown bread/wheat bread is made from flour that is nearly as thoroughly processed as is white bread flour. Ya gotta read the label! To get the added benefit of whole grain breads, you have to see the term "whole grain" used on the label. And yes, whole grain wheat bread does usually cost a few pennies more - but think instead of the dollars you'll save as you grow older by using whole grain bread for it's health benefits!

The healthiest bread in the world is Rye Crisp Bread. It's good too, and if kept dry never gets moldy. ;)

Wheat and white bread are only marginally different, what you need to explore are oat and rye breads. Or dark sunflower seed breads, or... well, there's lots of healthy choices out there.

Both.
White bread can help you stop diarea, while wheat bread has fiber, which is good for indigestion.
They both have the same amount of calories, so that is no difference.
