Everyone is entitled to their opinion like you said.Just don't make stupid blanket statements. It isn't the dog that is vicious.
It's the stupid owners that make them that way.I have one.She isn't one of the big blockhead breeds and she is anything but stupid.Want a stupid dog get a Doberman. They are the dumbest dogs on the planet.

If you are a "very experienced dog trainer" (as you claim to be), I'm sure you are well aware that there are good dogs and bad dogs in every breed, American Pit Bull Terriers (which is the actual breed; pitbull is a broad term that is wrongly applied to many bully breeds) included.
The majority of APBTs do not "attack little kids for no reason". I'd like to know where you got that idea from, as I have found many statistics that prove otherwise. Did you know that APBTs score 83.5% on ATTS (American Temperment Test Society) tests? Compared that to the Dalmatian's 81.6% and the Collie's 79.0%.
While APBTs do need special socialization with other dogs due to being bred for dog fights in the past (and unfortunately still are in some places), they are actually incredibly good with people. This is because dog fighters needed to be able to be able to handle their dog without being bitten, even while the dog was in a very agitated state while fighting. This is not to say that you won't come across aggressive APBTs. You will always have people who breed irresponsibly and fail to socialize their dogs. The same thing occurs with Labs, Goldens, and pretty much every other breed.
APBTs have served in the military and also perform as service dogs. Alaska's first certified hearing dog was an APBT. Obviously dogs must be intelligent to perform these types of tasks.
You are wrong in thinking that APBTs are stupid and mean, though I suspect you are just looking for attention by writing this flame. As far as looks go, I happen to think bully breeds are adorable, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Oh, and rchdwn: There is a big difference between prey drive and human aggression.

Don't chew you out? HAHA That's very funny to say seeing as you are picking on a certain breed all because some people use that breed as a fighting dog, it doesn't mean that all Pit Bulls are fighting dogs.
Ok I would think you being a dog trainer and all you would have a little more respect for the Pit Bulls. So what if they are in your words "ugly". Pit Bulls can be the nicest dogs in the world if brought up properly. And you do know that not only are some Pit Bulls are aggressive, but also Golden Retrievers and American Eskimo's and also every other breed in the world. There is always going to be at least 1 aggressive dog of a breed.
Pit Bulls are smart dogs, I mean just look at how many end up being Adopted! If they weren't smart they wouldn't know that they were getting a second chance at life!
You are a very mean person, to judge just one breed by looks and also by some of the dogs of that breed temperament.
I've met Pit Bulls before and they were the nicest dogs ever, they acted like a Golden Retrieve, nice, friendly and all that.

The problem with pit-bulls is that most people who get them want a vicious dog. The dog itself isn't vicious but the owner raises it be so--to fulfill their wish for a vicious dog. I've seen some pitbulls that are the most loving docile dogs you could imagine. I saw a full grown pitbull almost get killed by boxer puppy. I've seen more dobermans and sheperds randomly attack people than pitbulls.
The Province of Ontario has banned pitbulls which is sad because they are a beautiful dog. Yes, all terriers lack some of the intelligence that other dogs have but they make up for it in character. It is a different kind of intelligence. Intelligence in dog breeds is the fault of humans though. You can't fault an animal for being unintelligent when the people who are controlling its breeding are the one's that have made it inbred and dumb. Most purebred dogs are pretty inbred these days. If you really knew much about dogs you would be encouarging people to get a dog that is a mixed breed.
Why do you think you have a right to think this way though? If you were talking about humans it would racism. What you are talking about is a canine apartheid.
Has anyone ever told you that beauty is in the eye of the beholder?
"And let's face it [you're] ugly. Don't chew me out. I'm entitled to my own opinion."

You are entitled to your own opinion, as am I and everyone else. I disagree with you. I was raised around pitbulls, and I have worked with animals for many many years. I even worked as a vet tech. I have seen LOTS and LOTS of dogs, and pitbulls are NOT stupid or ugly. Ugly is really only a matter of opinion. Lots of people think Dobies are ugly. I think pits look much better WITHOUT their ears cropped, but hey, to each his own! ALL the pits I have been around and known have been SUPER SMART, loyal, loving, kind, great with kids, and just plain awesome. As I know there are dogs out there that are bad, so are there other breeds that do bad things also. It is NOT a bREED you have to look at, as much as what they are trained to do, how they grow up, etc. Did you know that the dog with the highest "bite rate" in children is the dalmation? Do you know that I have seen MORE NASTY chows and cocker spaniels than any other breed. Did you know there is an agency that goes around the country and does temperment testing on different breeds of dogs,a nd the pitbull and amstaff rated at the TOP as far as GREAT temperment goes? These people do this for a living, and test many many many dogs before they rate them! The top is scored 100 and the pits and amstaffs scored in the 90s!! AT THE TOP!
Hate for any breed is really just ignorance and "dog discrimination". Just as no race of person is all one way or another, neither is a certain breed of dog. A LOT of factors come into play on how a dog will turn out, genetics being only a small part!

Yes everyone is entitled to their opinion, but you are not going to get more respect by impersonating a dog trainer. all anyone has to do is look at your previous questions to determine that you are not an experienced trainer, any experienced trainer would already know the questions you are asking. By your logic we should also make anyone with a rottweiler, doberman or any other aggressive breed pay fines, how about large breed dogs? a Saint Bernard or Newfoundland could do a lot of damage should they decide to bite. And while we are at it let's make the owners of little dogs pay the fine as well, many of them are babied so badly they become nasty little ankle biters, this includes the sheltie, I know a lady that has four of them and they are the nastiest little dogs.

no dog is stupid, they just have the wrong owner. i also dont think they are ugly. some people like them some dont. im sure some people feel the same way about you(ugly/stupid) but that wont stop somebody from eventually loving you. i do agree that they should be trained young to avoid problems but so should all other dogs. and if anybody sounds insecure is you. you seem afraid of pitbulls, maybe you are not that great a trainer otherwise you would appreciate the gifts all dogs have to offer.p.s: a lot of th "smart" breeds have bitten before.

Well here is my opinion...I will not degrade any breed...alot of this comes down to the breeding and management of owners or lack of. As for you being a trainer you should be well aware of this fact. Maybe your personality doesnt get along w/this breed and hence the reason they dont work well w/you. This is not bad..not every trainer can train every dog. But to understand your faults and realize the issue makes you a better trainer instead of putting the blame on the breed in general. I think they are cool looking and have known many pits they are very respectful but they were also being breed by intelligent responsible individuals. Its understanding the breed and their capibilities.

lol You are entitled to your opinion but I don't think you should be allowed to force that opinion on other people. And you are forcing it on them when you say they should have to pay a lot of money to license the breed that they love. Did you know that in some states they are trying to do that with LABRADORS as well? That's my breed and I love them, and here they are getting a bad rap just like Pits because people are stupid and don't train them. I think all people should have to take their puppies to puppy class. That's not a matter of debate because not all people are as fortunate as I to grow up in a show home. Like we say though, "Punish the deed, not the breed".
So realize before you start pushing legislature that will get someone elses breed in trouble, one day it could be YOUR breed on the list.

The American Pit Bull Terrier is a wonderful dog, well-known for its intelligence, strength, and loyalty. In recent years, the breed has been unfairly villanized as overly aggressive and dangerous.

First off, saying that a pitbull is stupid is ridiculous. Learn your history. PEOPLE give pitbulls a bad reputation. If your a dog trainer than you should know, it's not the dog thats bad, it's the owner. As far as it being ugly, I for one think they are very cute but like you say, evreyone is entitled to their opinion. But really, who buys a gaurd dog for it's looks? Its "pretty" face ain't gonna stop nobody from breaking into your house...am I right?

Hmmmm. "very experienced dog trainer".
Funny. I wouldn't hire you.
Btw, I own a corgi and a sheltie, not a pitbull.
Added 11/07:
According to a 1998 report, the most current I could find, the dog breed in Texas who's bite resulted in an emergency room visit was a Chow!
