Dandruff is basically the effect of drying up of the skin of your scalp. This can happen due to various reasons, the most common of them being dirt and microbial infection.
Thus, the aim is to keep the scalp clean and moist.Though there are a number of Shampoos and Conditioners available to the effect, natural techniques are more reliable. You can try applying a mixture of curd and lime juice on the scalp(they are highly acidic) and they would kill the germs.Further you can apply one raw egg(This helps in moisturinsing the skin tissues).Be sure to clean your head thoroughly afterwards. You may apply a mild shampoo to remove the smell. If the problem is new, sometimes just applying coconut oil for 3-4 days(Twice in a day) helps. If the problem is persistent, then cutting off all hair is advisable to expose the scalp to air and sunlight following the above mentioned tips.If the problem still persists,it may due to some skin defect, and a good dermatologist should be consulted immediately.

I used to have dandruff but I tried Head and Shoulders, also massaged my scalp when washing hair. I did this every other day. Now I have lovely dandruff free hair that shines.

Switch between two different dandruff shampoos.

Start off with Head and Shoulders, if after time the flakes start coming back move on to Selsun blue and just go back and forth when needed. That's it, ever since I started switching, my flakes have been long gone...for years.

A few drops of lemon juice sould be rubbed on the scalp mixed with a couple of spoonfulls of curd before taking bath..Too many frequent shampooing should be avoided. Pure coconut or mustard oil can be massaged to give better result. Reetha seeds used as hair cleanser is advisable.

There are plenty of tar shampoos on the market, the brand available depending on which country you live. This is only a personal opinion, but I think that you must wash your hair frequently (every 1-3 days) and when you do, give your scalp a vigorous and deep massage. Most people think of washing their hair when they should be thinking of washing their scalp, as it generates the oil and flakes.
