What beans are used to make pork & beans?

An Old "Southern Style" and my all-time favorite "Bean-Dish;" Is "Beans & Hamhocks!"
That is the best "pork & beans" that a person can eat!!
We use "Red-Beans"(Pinto-Beans,) and as much Hamhocks as you like... Myself; I like to use 2-4Lbs. of Hamhocks with my 2-2.5 cups of Beans(before soaking in water), and I cook 'em, in a large "crockpot" on "Low" for 8-12hrs.
Soak your beans in plenty of water, overnight before you put 'em in your crockpot. Then toss in your beans & hamhocks and fill your ''crock'' with plenty of water, and either "Season" 'em with Salt & Pepper" and Jalapeno, or let everyone "Season" their own bowl after you have cooked 'em. Any "Cornbread" mixture goes "GREEEAT" with your meal, also! It does make a great meal to come home too, after work, and once you start your "crockpot" in the A.M. before you leave for work, it will be ready when you get home.
The best thing about this is that "leftovers" are even better on the 2nd & 3rd night, and taste just as good as the 1st night, and "Pinto-Beans" are "CHEAP" along with the Hamhocks; but you will think you are eating a meal fit for a King!!!!
