Somebody I know asked me out in a text messgae and my friends say I shouldn't go because its gonna be horrible.What would you do?

No way! If the guy doesn't have enough class to walk up and ask you in person, there's no way that I would go out with him! Can you imagine how he'd treat you on that date!
I'm sure that you can find someone a whole lot better and will treat you with the respect you deserve!

If I had any interest in that person, I would go. But it's best if the person had screwed up the courage to ask face to face. It's for that reason that I would probably not go on the date. On the other hand he did ask, so if you do have an inkling for him, go for it. You can always call the date off early if it's really as horrible as your friends say. Good luck.

This is the year 2006 and asking people out this way has been done over and over and ended up with lots of happy couples. I should know, I am one of them. If it weren't for the fact that I accepted the way he asked me out (texting me) then I wouldn't be engaged to the wonderful man now.

If you want to meet this person you could have a few "GOOD" friends go with you to meet this person so you aren't alone when you meet him and this way you should be safe and if you decide that you don't want to go out with him then don't but at least this way you will have met him and seen what he looks like and your "GOOD" friends will have done so too.
Better to be safe then sorry and who knows, he may just turn out to be a really sweet guy and your friends will envy you later.

I would go out with a guy that asked me out in a text message. I know this because I did it and nothing has gone wrong yet.

if you know this person and it isnt some stalker then all you should do is ask yourself do you like them, if so then the person may of been too shy to ask you in person, if you like each other give ita go dont worry about what your friends say, it is your life good luck.

I would call the person and talk to them, but I wouldn't go on the date unless they asked you in person. Yikes. That is so tacky.

Maybe he was to scared to ask you by mouth. Do not worry yourself about little things about why he text you. Worry about how he treats women.
