I completely agree. On the one hand they say God can't do anything to help people because he gave us free will and it is those who abuse free will that cause all the bad, but then on the other they go and petition God to help them.
WTF?
Oh, but then when nothing comes of their prayers, they say "God gives you what you need, not what you want." "God doesn't work on our timeframe." Blah, blah, blah. Seriously! They have an explanation for everything!

10/10 religions are made by man. Faith and belief are personal and ones own opinion. No religion can make anything all better or they would. No person can make everything all better or they would. We do the best we can and leave the rest to learn from and cope with. This is the only reality there is. God is not doing miracles now, none of them are. If ppl want to believe, that's fine but when they hide their heads in the sand it only causes more problems, it only prolongs them.
I hope you understand, you are in control of you and just do the best you can and be happy about the rest.

Good Question
Religion is how Man acts upon what he believes. Religion is men working in Gods name. I'm not saying that god cant use this but dont give God the credit for something he didnt do.
I do believe God works in the lives of people though.

i know in basic terms what you mean. good now, I desire a sort of X-ians replaced into good, and that all and sundry I had to do replaced into pray for the water to empty in my clogged bathing room sink -- I even took the 'god facilitates people who facilitates themselves' course and tried Liquid Plumber, a plunger, or perhaps took the little cap off the elbow formed pipe. in spite of the undeniable fact that interestingly like Jesus isn't listening to my prayers, and that i circulate to be out one hundred dollars or so once I pay the plumber. Ah, properly, no longer something to be finished -- in basic terms love thy neighbor and all that, and allow the "Christians" babble on. i can relax hassle-free understanding that numerous them have clogged drains, too.

I've noticed most people that say this are poor (monetarily). They have nothing else. They have to believe that God fixes everything, otherwise there's nothing else for them to believe in.
Unfort they have the other issue is that having Money is bad. They misinterpret the bible in which it says "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil" Most people think it says "Money is the root of all evil"
Not true.
If you ask most people about Money they will say that people with lots of money are abusive, greedy, will have extramarital affairs, abuse people, etc.
I then ask "Do you know or have you heard of poor people with these qualities?" They admit yes.
This is the first step into realizing that Money isn't bad...it's people. And then it is the first step to self-actualization.
(You can do the same type of thing with Race in place of money)

I can only do the fixing when God shows me the way. That is what I believe. Others don't believe it and thats okay too. You have the right to believe whatever you want , just don't put down someone else's beliefs because you don't agree with them.

Seven times you have referenced your self obviously you are your own center your own source your own answer.
Christians understand we are not the cause and we are not the reason but we place God on the throne and the center of our life.
If you feel "badgered" walk away or change the subject
Christians have as much rights to talk as you have not to listen.

It's a metaphor and yeah a lot of what is "said" about religion comes from man and interpretations, right wrong or indifferent.

If someone doesn't thank a higher power for the good things that he has done for himself, then he has no one to blame for the bad things that he has done for himself.
It would be hypocritical indeed (and tinged with hints of paranoia) to accept all the good things as your responsibility while placing blame for the bad things on the devil.
Instead, these people give thanks and assign blame to forces beyond them. When you adopt that position, then you are no longer accountable for your life. Just got fired? Well, it's the devil's fault. And if God wanted me to get a new job, it'd happen.
It's frightening how much control people are willing to give up.

It fills me with sadness to see so many people come on here who think that their life is controlled by forces over which they have influence only by debasing themselves in prayer. I sometimes just want to scream at them to get a grip.
