Slowly. It takes time to readjust your life to the world outside of the industry. Have you given any thought to working in a feed store & horse supply shop. You know the products & probably know the people too, so that is one option. Depending on your reasons why you stopped, it's hard to advise you on this subject, especially if you have sustained any type of a physical injury. If your license was pulled, then that's a whole different thing. I spent 5 years living on the backside & hotwalking & grooming horses & I miss it, but I don't miss all the bullsh*t that went with it. I just miss the horses. I'm probably not helping you at all!

Spend some time thinking about the other interests in your life that rank as high as horse riding. Can you be a trainer rather than a rider? Can you act as a buyer? Are there other related areas that keep you around horses even though you cant ride professionally? I dont know much about horses or the professional jobs available. If none of these alternatives appeals to you, make a list of your secondary interests then go the internet under these topics and see what education is needed and begin to pursue a new life. Keep riding horses though, I hear it is therapeutic.

I'm in the same situation. Its' been 3 years since I've ridden a horse. Sadly I livew within walking distance from 2 stables. I'm thinking of trying to offer free help for people to be able to be around them some. I miss it.

Your question is so distressing to me. I hope you realize nothing in this life should be so important that you have based all your happiness and soul purpose of life into this situation. Jobs come and go, you deserve to love yourself for the good you have given to this and realize you are better than however they made you feel for perhaps letting you go. You are precious, you will get through this. This too shall pass. Be hopeful there is someone who will value all the good you do.

I would look for a career that has to a connections to horses. You could look into vetarniery medician or training.
You could also go to school and see what your other interest are and then get a degree

its all ok, i hate horses, when i was 10 one chased me on thanksgiving and made me jump through a fence into a huge mud pile all because my cousin pissed it off, and it went after me... then when i was 13 in colorado we were horse back riding and my damn horses legs fell down a slope off the edge of a mountain and i almost fell off and died... and then when we got back to the ranch the damn thing got stung by a bee and bucked me off of it, and i spent the rest of the vacation bruised and in pain. ... i hate horses..find another hobby...
