I'm needing to replace the front and center in dash speaker and I'm not sure what all I have to do to get to it. I'm hoping it do'es not require taking the hole dash out. After looking under the dash in seems to be covered with the heater vent tube or something.

Man we talking "Old School" here. You may need to pull the radio which is removed from the back and get better access to the speaker if the "Crash Pad" stated above not remove. There may be 2-4 nuts hold it and they about 3/8 inch deep well socket. If you have some extensions and 1-2 Universals (Those wobbly things) you may be able to reach the nuts with your Ratchet and slide it around other things. Good Luck!

I could be remembering wrong...but I think the top part of the dash ( called the crash pad) comes off...think it has about 6-8 screws holding it in place. the speaker should be easy to remove after that.

*note* If the car was a later production 1965 model it may not have a removable crash pad. You may have to remove the heater duct to get it out. Good luck....its a tough job.
