Well, its not that far out of date, however, they do put expiration dates for a purpose. Was it stored properly and is it still sealed? Does it have live culture? If its sealed and has live culture, I'll bet its good to eat--the yogurt cultures are good for you and would tend to keep other bacteria in check.
On the other hand, if it hasn't been stored well, seal is broken, doesn't have live culture, I would chuck it. If you are into an abundance of caution, chuck it anyway.
Yes, if some foreign bacteria has taken root there and multiplied, you could get sick. The degree of sickness depends on the bacteria and how much of it.

I just had some 18 month old yoghurt and it was delicious. But it had been sealed and kept in the fridge all that time. If there's mould growing up the side of the pot or on the yogurt, I'd give it to the cat. Otherwise, I'd give it a go. Eiher way, I wouldn't turn to anoonymous web users for advice.

If it's bad, it will be immediately obvious when you open it. If it looks and smells OK, it is.
Those expiration dates have a lot of slack in them, but June 3 is a very long time ago for yogurt. I have my doubts. Opening the package is the only way you will know.

Experation dates on products are meant for the last day it can be sold from the store. The product is still good up to 2 to 3 days after, however, if it smelled awful, and the water content rose to the top of the yogurt, some people make get very sick, but no real harm, others nothing will happen, their stomachs are more tollerant.

As natural yogurt ages, it becomes more and more bitter. But unless it is growing mold, it can be eaten. The question, is Why would you want to? Fresh yogurt is delicious, old yogurt isn't.
The exception to bitterness in yogurt are "blended" products which have been stabilized with sugar, other sweeteners, chemicals and vegetable derrivitives. They might retain their flavors, but then the question is - Why eat them at all?

I m in the UK and bought some basic fat free yoghurt from ASDA (Walmart).
It s November now and I ve just opened it. It had separated a bit and some watery liquid had risen to the top. This is fairly common with yoghurt anyway, so I poured it off and tried the yoghurt.
It is absolutely delicious. Had it with some bread pudding (coincidentally, a pudding made out of stale bread!). Refreshing, tangy and creamy, as it should be.
Oh, and the unopened tub was use-by dated MAY.
...That s May 2014; Eighteen months ago.
It had been at the back of the fridge all that time.

please discard it , as already yogurt is the result of bacteria action on milk !
don't wait so long, till expiry date !
why don't you set the curds at home ?
first heat the milk, let it cool.
heat again, till luke warm.
add a teaspoon of yogurt, and stir gentally.
keep in a cool dry place, to set.
it will set on it's own, overnight.
once set, put the bowl in the fridge.
use within 2 days.
make a little watery consistency, and shake in the blender, with a pinch of salt, and sugar.
add some chopped coriander, fresh ginger flakes, and serve cool, to drink .
