With new roads and houses being built all over the UK how far can we get away from the signs of roads and progress.

I would think possibly the top of Ben Nevis would be the furtherst you can get.

The parts of the UK with the least roads are the north-west Scottish Highlands, and some of the smaller off-shore islands.

i liveed a mile from the first road once but then i was in a farm house with just a dirt track to get to the road by

Go to Montserrat island that is an overseas territory of the United Kingdom. It measures approximately 16 km (10 miles) long and 11 km (7 miles) wide, giving 40km of coastline.If you are not afraid of volcanoes that should suit you !!

I agree with Wafflebox. You would need to go 'up' not 'away' to escape.

FYI the view from the top of Ben Nevis is breathtaking!!
