I must say this might be a hard. My Step-son is 12 years old with a maturity level of 6 most of the times. Well the problem is that he is diagnosed with ADHD for those of you that don't know that is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. We live in a Subdivision and he has not made friends for the last year that we have been here. I have been stakeing out the Bus stop for the past week and i can see that he has no social skills. He likes to be the clown in the circle with the GIRLS that he stands with. He attempts sometimes to talk with the guys that stand in a different area but the tell him to go away. We think that it may be because sometimes he says things that is not of his age level. He is on A drug called Ritalin that he takes 3 times a day @ 10 mg and also Strattera that he takes only in the morning. What i really want to know is what do you think that we should do about his social skills and his self asteem?

He needs social coaching. If you can't afford a therapist, apply for SSI so he can get medicaid for the professional help he needs. Expect to be turned down at least once, just keep going.
