You want to make cookies to serve 12 people? 60 cookies is 5 cookies each. If that's too many, then cut the recipe in half and that will make 2-3 cookies per person.

Do you want to make cookies for 12 people or 12 cookies? If your feeding a large crowd keep recipe as is or just half the recipe. It sounds like a plain sugar cookie. Try adding some chopped walnuts or pecans, some oatmeal and chocolate chips. Sorry....these are my favorite cookies...oatmeal chocolate chip cookies rule!

G'day kat.hyrn,

Thank you for your question.

You might try using a fifth of the recipe but I don't know if that would work ie 2/5ths of one egg. Halfing might be a better solution.

Alternatively, you could try baking 60 and giving some away to friends and relatives. It would make you popular anyway among the neighbourhood kids.

Regards

I'd say cut everything in half.
Then if thats still too much cookies use what you need and freeze the rest for when you feel like more cookies.

Cut everything in half:

1 cup plus one table spoon flour
1/2 tea soda
1/2 tea salt
1 stick butter (1/2) cup

1/4 plus one tbsp. gran. sugar
1/4 plus one tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 vanilla
1 egg

In all honesty you would be better off just making the cookies bigger so that it does not make so many. Fooling with baking recipes never works...I have tried it many times and they never turn out right.

it doesnt work that way.they may not turn out right if you start converting. you can either make larger cookies or make your twelve and freeze the rest in packages that will make 12. make sure you wrap them very well and put on a freezer bag to protect it from freezer burn. label and date them too

i always make a big batch of choc chip cookie dough, make balls into them and freeze the dough i don't need. for sugar cookies, i would suggest you form the into a log, wrap well and freeze..

i would just make it the way it is, then only use enough to make 12, and freeze the rest. if you don't want to do that then just use half of everything it says.

I was told you can freeze cookies. If not, maybe you can freeze the cookie dough?
