What does it tell guys when a nice sweet modest(doesn't dress like a skank) girl says hi to guys and smile at them and that's all she does? Or if they talk to her she nods and smiles but is polite?
Is that a way to get guy friends or more or what? Suggestions? That's what I do.

Yes that's enough to start a conversation with a guy in any situation. If you don't want that then look away

It seems like this is the way to getting guy friends. One time I thought she was interested in me but found out before I did anything too stupid. She's being nice and showing off her personality by trying to make people smile as smiles are infectious. If she wanted to get a guy, she would use more heavy flirting techniques such as extended eye contact, physically brushing past the person, and randomly going up to the guy. This way, the guy makes no mistakes and there's no embarassment. If she's nodding, smiling, and being polite, she is probably not too interested in you but is being a nice person and listening to what you have to say.

That's enough for a guy to think she likes him possibly. Most guys need a little more hints than that because there are a lot of girls that are just nice and does those things but doesn't like a certain guy. You may get guy friends in general but you may not get a specific guy friend.

When a girl smiles or says hi to you don´t think she is in need of you, take care because you can step on a landmine which can upset you.
Take note that beautiful girls are fond of smiling and open to anyone, it can also be your golden opportunity if happen to you twice.
My friend I don´t mis-use such opportunities as it can come in a silver platter.

they may see you as closed up i'm not telling you to change your ways but open up with more the just a smile or nod. have a conversation with the person.

guys like to take things the wrong way if she is too polite and smiles alot he would probably think she likes him

I think what it is telling a guy that they might want to get to know you better. maybe she wants her to be your friend or more.
