Well, as someone said already, there are many dialects in the Philippines. Tagalog is the main language. Here are some things that you could remember for tagalog. (By the way, if u r talking to someone that u don't know or is an adult, u should always add po to your question or answer)

How are you= Kumusta ka po?

I'm fine= Mabuti po ako.

What's your name= Anong pangalan mo?

You could also learn more of it from special tapes, books, etc.

There are over 160 languages in the Philippines, which one do you want to learn? Tagalog? Cebuano? Ilokano? Hiligaynon? Bikol?

Tagalog is what it is called. And try Rosetta Stone its a cd rom, you can buy it at Barnes & Nobles. Its pretty easy to use. Or try Amazon.com
