Well, the Pope is head of the catholic church and a King would be head of the country. Unless you are in the vatican city which is a secular state where the pope lives and takes on the lead role of the vatican city also (considered I think the smallest country in the world)

I one time during many years ago the pope did head up a larger territory in the area but was once exhiled. Then later returned to the vatican where it became a secular state.

A king rules over a country, and some countries kings/queens is also head of the religion in that country.

So you could say the Pope is on equal footing (since he is head of the vatican city with a secular state) also with a wide reaching power into also heading up the world catholic church.

Well, bigger physically, I doubt it. However, depending on what point in time you are speaking of ,and what king you are speaking of. The pope is huge dude. He is the big guy in Catholic religion. If you haven't noticed, people kill by religion, and in the "English Era" as we will call it, people would most likely assassinate the king at the Pope's request. So, I would put my money, even today, that the Pope is bigger.

as far as i'm concern, they are the same.... king is a ruler of a country and pope is also a ruler in his own country.... so, political wise, they are equivalent.... In term of religious, well, u can't say the pope is bigger if the king is Muslim, Jews etc since we can't say one religion is more superior than the other, so, they should still be the same level... Unless, the king is a Christian, the pope is the bigger...

Yes King Jesus is above the Pope. The Pope is just a man and should not be worshipped.

after the refromation yes king is bigger than pope. the papal power has deminished a lot since the middle ages. even though its raising again. primarily due to the fact that most places arent having a monarchy anymore. but as of now king has the power over his land and people and pope has a sh!t sandwich cuz all he controlls is his country the size of a city

The strenght of a leader - religious or otherwise, is essentially determined by the number (population)of his subject. The number of catholic adherents all over the world, more than triple the population of England for instance. So one can say that the sphere of influence of the Pope is far greater than that of the King or Queen of England.
