The bible doesn't say He "snapped His fingers".
Evolution is incomprehensible.

God does not snap fingers...
u fool!!
lol
<---is being a bigot
On a more serious note: I understand evolution...which is why I think theyve got a loooooong way to go when it comes to explaining how life appeared.....and most importantly....WHY??? lol
Why do some turn out to be smart like us...why do some remain the basic creatures they are..why this why that...over all..youll see a world that has a balanced ecosystem....everything is in order with lions eating a certain number of deer....and ants eating what they need and not more...the only creature that disturbs the ecosystem is the human...
otherwise everything is working like a clock....in system...full harmony....nothing is coincidental my friend :)

It's a lot easier to think that God snapped his fingers and we appeared, which is why it's so appealing to theists.
However, it has absolutely nothing to do with evolution. Evolution doesn't explain abiogenesis, but it's tied to it.
That's part of the problem, though.
1. Evolution is too hard to understand by someone like me, your average Joe.
2. Therefore, God did it.
Edit: My above argument isn't a real argument... it's the Argumentum ad Ignorantium. (sp? Argument from Ignorance)

Since understanding evolution requires a person to be familiar with several disciplines of science and a lot of time to spend reading and researching, not to mention as new information comes in ideas are constantly being scrapped, revised, or proven so you have to really be on top of current scientific finds, saying "God did it" is so much easier. Unfortunately, it's also a cop out. Many people don't have the educational background or the desire to understand the Theory (not "just a theory" but Theory, capital "T") of Evolution, so "God did it" is the only explaination for them.

Evolution is not necessarily easy to understand nor is snapping of fingers easy to believe. Google Theist Evolution and you may find it easier to digest.

I think Creation is easier to understand, especially if you go to church or are a Christian. Admittedly there are problems with the "Creation Model", but there are just as many with the evolution model. I'd suggest you look at a Creation Website or two, then look at a skeptics website or two.
If it's any help, think of it this way: The likelihood of a habitable life sustaining planet occurring in a galaxy (with hundreds of millions of stars) is so remote they believe the chances of it occurring are somewhere between one per galaxy and one for the whole universe.

Well, wouldn't the "big bang" of chance existence require more faith that believing that an omnipotent, omniscient Being created the universe?
With chance existence (atheistic evolution), what caused the "big bang?" What was "there" before the "big bang? Something? Nothing? Something nothing? Nothing something? or Nothing nothing?
If something? Where did it come from? If nothing, how did that happen? Come on, chance evolution takes far more faith than creationism. You atheists are far more religious that we theists. Problem is, you can't even recognize the fact that you bow at the altar of your god or goddess "chance" whose agent is evolution.
And, ultimately, your god leaves you empty with no ultimate purpose for you existence except an empty shell full of hate and smug condescension for those who won't bow before your god. Incredible!

To the average person, the process of electricity, or how a computer works in binary to create complicated graphics or the internet, is in the very same realm of comprehension as a biblical miracle for them. They happen to be more inclined to accept the """"rational"""" explanation, is all.
The modern mind accepts and even embraces scientific mumbo jumbo it cannot possibly comprehend. That's rich.

Considering only one of them has any evidence supporting it-evolution-it is clearly easier to accept that. it is only rejected by those who are ignorant of the facts or bigotted. Just look at the anwers here-how many of those that have posted even know what biological evolution is? Where does the big bang come into the evolution of species?

An infinitely intelligent and powerful God would be inefficient if he didn't just snap his fingers and create things. The question is do you believe that an infinite intelligent and powerful God exists.
