I highly doubt this female would or should even be considered "a woman" -
Yes, some women do this, others do not. The ones that do tend to have a lower self esteem and are just fishing around to see if you are sad of the breakup and would take them back (sick game but it is played).
They generally are those that have the lower self esteems so I would say brush it off and go on with your life.

because it makes the revenge sweeter. you have to remember, even though she broke up with you, she still has to get over you. it still will hurt her that its over, and she's just trying to transfer some of that hurt to you. or it could be that she's confused or unsure about her breaking up, and wants to see if she wants you back
what youre probably wondering is how to turn the tables on her. the fact that she's playing head games with you means that youre letting her control the dynamics of the situation. the best way to get over this is to flip the control to your side. beat her at her own game.
next time she calls or you run into her, you ned to convey that youre busy and cant stay too long. demonstrate that youre actually moving on with your life. in the best scenario, let her see you walking around with another woman, not somebody youre dating, but just a female friend. if she asks about her (which means she's jealous) say "nah thats just a friend, you should meet her! you two would get along great!". rub it in her face that youre socializing and enjoying meeting other people. you'll feel better about yourself and being single, which is actually a very attractive thing to women, and pretty soon she'll be chasing you. and if she doesnt, at least no more head games. you win either way. good luck :)

Because that's what most men have done to women. I know both women and men play head games, I think out of insecurity or greed, wanting your cake and eat it too type thing. By playing games, that keeps the window of opportunity always open.

Not ALL women do, if it is going on with the women that YOU know then maybe there is something YOU are doing that causes them to do this. You might want to rethink your associatons with women, maybe not get involved too early on in the "relationship" maybe not get involved at all.

Insecuity, it's like coming down fom a high. they're used to thr attention, and arent ready to let go. Make yourself unavailable for 2 weeeks staight and she'll get the picture.

Some women do this because they think so highly of themselves that they couldn't imagine you getting on with your own life without them. Just ignore them and sooner or later they will go away.

Because they want it to be over but they don't want you to hurt so playing with them leaves him hope that something may get started again.But soon enough she'll cut you off completely.

I don't. If I ever broke up with anyone it was to get as far away from them as possible and start over.
