You could do a daily report (with the kids announcing) "3 Great things about today". Have 3 kids each day think of 3 things that were great at school that day, and share them over the speaker. You'll get some priceless things! Keep track of them in a book, and they make great lists for fundraising efforts (e.g. "100 reasons why you should support our school"- put in the best "great" things).

You could remind the kids of things happening tomorrow or things happening this week at school. ie: "don't forget to bring you permission slips for the field trip on Friday" or "tomorrow is picture day." Give kudos for teacher appreciation or spotlight a class project ie "thanks to all the kids in Mrs. Coopers class for the letters of support to the troops in Iraq." I would not single out kids because not all kids may hear their names called. Do a trivia question for all of the kids to try to answer the next day.
Congrats on the new speakers.
