I'm trying to find records of my deceased mother?

but they wont let me view anything until i purchase it....can anyone help me find a website that i can view these records with no cost?

Generally, the only way to get it for free is to actually go to the building that houses the information you're trying to find.

Keep in mind that these are all paper records. Someone is inputting them into the computer and making them accessible online. This costs time and money, and so the genelogy companies charge for their services.

If you live near where she died, go to the library and look for her obituary in the microfilmed newspapers.

but they concentrate on older deaths, so she probably won't be there.

Your county clerk may let you view a copy of her death certificate. They generally charge you for a copy.

Without a country and state / province, a list of the records you want to see and a date it is hard to give you a good answer. RootsWeb, for instance, has a free on-line death index that shows mother's maiden name and father's surname, for many entries, but it is only for California deaths 1940 - 1995.
