What is the difference between Long Grain rice and Basmati rice??

Long grain rice is your normal white rice,basmati rice is actually brown rice,the differences are below:

basmati rice is more healthier to eat,than white long grain rice.

Rice is like most other grains. There are different kinds and flavors specific to a particular community. Basmati rice is used in alot of Indian foods. The Asians use a more sticky rice, short grained. In Louisiana, we go for long grain white rice. But I love it all!! It's just a matter of taste and texture.

More texture than taste. Basmati goes better with hot spicy runny sauce dishes.

I use savoury long grain rice with breaded fish and other dishes.

Which leaves the Spanish paella rice, which I do not know if this is even best for the paellas. If you are going to cook the dish for a long time, long-grained rice could be preferred ? Long grained rice can be cooked longer.
