i dont mean cheap as in a dollar. Come on guys. I dont want to go to shelter, apca, etc. i am trying to straight out buy one and a purebred. i have tried puppyfind, etc. there alot of rottweilers out there from people that are being sold that also need a home as well and i feel they are just as important as the ones at the pound cause you have to worry about where these guys will end up to.

Purebreds do not come cheap. If you truly want to care for a dog and get one without much expense, why not rescue one from the pound? Aren't there enough unwanted dogs in the world? Why encourage the breeding industry when there are so many dogs needing homes?

You don't want a "cheap" puppy because it will cost you more money in the end. "Cheap" puppies have parents without health clearances, who are bred without regards to temperament and health histories of past generations. The mothers of "cheap" puppies did not get the best care while pregnant so the "cheap" puppies may have problems from that.

Cheap puppies can grow into very expensive adults with health problems that can cost thousands to fix.

Your cheap puppy may also send your homeowner/renters insurance skyrocketing or you may lose your insurance.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money up front, but you can afford to keep a Rottie, look into a rottie rescue group near you.

Try www.petfinder.com

With an adult from a reputable group you'll be getting a Rottie past the puppy chewing/housebreaking stages and you'll know what their temperament is like and their health.

You should try a Rottweiler Rescue or even your local humane society. Contrary to popular belief, they often have purebred dogs waiting to be adopted. The rescue is your best bet though. We've adopted 2 dobermans from our local doberman rescue and they were the best dogs I've ever had.

if you want a purebred, you're going to need to find a breeder. or a shelter that has taken one in (maybe a rotty rescue?)

If money is a consideration, perhaps a dog is not the right pet. You have to budget hundreds a year for their vet bills.
