Actually - If I'm goin to be stuck in eternity with a bunch of sanctimonious evangelists I'd prefer not to get in.

Can you believe that?

You cant just say you believe in the stuff. You actually have to convince yourself that you actually believe it.

But you can't convince yourself of that either.

So you'll probably end up lying to yourself and telling yourself that you've convinced yourself that you actually believe it.

If you're a good liar you trick yourself into believing that you've really convinced yourself and you actually believe it.

Then you'll believe.

Have you ever wondered why God gave us physical bodies and didn't just create us as spirit creatures in heaven in the first place? The prospect that the Bible holds out for people is eternal life on Earth, not in Heaven. Consider Psalm 37 v11, Proverbs 2 v21, Revelation 21 vs1,4 and Matthew 5 v5.

Consider this: if Adam had not disobeyed God, the sentence of Death would not have been passed on to him. If he had remained loyal to God, he would still have been alive today ON THE EARTH, if we read correctly what God said to Adam. The ntire account can be read in a few minutes by examining Genesis chapter 2 and 3.

On the question of who gets this fine reward, Romans 6 v7 indicates that those who have died have been acquitted from their sin. For these ones, the resurrection is held out as a hope. (Acts 24 v15)
For those left alive, there is still time to choose the path that Jesus Christ set out for us to follow (Matthew 6 vs13,14)

We are saved by grace, so no good deeds will open you the way to heaven. If you think that miracles are spooky how come that you find heaven a place you would like to end up in? It's like you are hoping to win the lottery but buying the ticket is not your style.

Unfortunately being good isn't really important, compared to believing in Jesus and accepting Him as your Saviour, doing good deeds should be a reflection of your relationship with Him.

As for the "spooky miracle stuff", since He is God, why shouldn't He be able to do things that defy the laws of nature?

Call on the Name of the Lord and be saved. Romans 10:9-10 says confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lore and believe God raised Him from death you will be saved. So believe and accept Jesus as Lord. Confession is made unto salvation, and righteousness by believing in your heart.

So being good isn't enough to get you to heaven, because without Jesus we are judged by the law, and we are all guilty.

What could be spooky about a miracle!! Ok this is your question. You can't get to heaven by good works. You must be saved. To do that you must accept the gift that was offered to you, Life. Christ died on the cross to pay for your sins, you accept the gift, your saved, reject it, and many Christians all over the world, myself included, will continue to pray that God won't have to shake you to hard to get you on your knees, praying with the rest of us.

Being "good" will NEVER get you to heaven. None of us are good. By the worlds standards you might think so, but the scriptures say:
Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

And yes you have to believe in miracles. Salvation is the greatest miracle of all. :)

God Bless

Yep i am afraid you have to believe in the spooky miracle stuff - it's called faith!

Being good helps of course - treat others as you expect to be treated?

There are miracles all around us though - just take a positive look at life.

...Neither.
...No one is good enough for Heaven: Romans 3:23 says,
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
...Sin leads to death...Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death".
...Jesus Christ is God's only provision for man's sin.
...Act 4:12 says, "And there is salvation in no one, for there is no other Name under Heaven, that has been given among men, by which we must be saved."
...Here's what is left for you to do - simply believe.
...Acts 16:31 says, "Believe (trust) on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved."
...I do wish you a blessed eternity.
...Whosoever will, may come.

Ephesians 2:7-9
7in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast

Are you 100 percent good, do you never sin? If you sin but one time, you owe a spiritual death for that sin. The only way for you to pay this debt and still go to heaven is to accept Jesus the Christ into your heart.

You will hear it many times from those that know, Being good alone, does not qualify you for heaven, only being perfect. Being perfect only comes as a gift from the Savior, He exchanges your imperfection for His perfection; if and only if, you make Him the Lord of your life.

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. As the Scriptures tell us, "Anyone who believes in him will not be disappointed." Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They all have the same Lord, who generously gives his riches to all who ask for them. For "Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
Romans 10:9-13
