There is not much you can do hun, sorry to say this but I think he was just using you until he went away.
How long were you with him for? Also how old are you? Are you sure that you really had strong feelings for him or is just that he was the first man/boy you have been with in a while?
Things like this happen all the time and you are not the only one to have gone through it, you just need to learn from what has happened. But dont let this put you off going into another relationship because you may find that if your barriers are always up you will end up in a worse position than you are now.
Things may seem bad but just do the things you enjoy doing and move on slowly, dont rush into anything!
