Affect your work performance or relationships outside your church/synagogue/mosque?

It should. You should be living an example of what your belief system is. That includes having good work ethic and giving your best at work and being faithful and honest to your fellow man. It is treating others as you would have them treat you. Including those who have less savory jobs, behaviors, etc. If you are leading by example then you will follow the ways of Christ and talk to all and sit with all and shun no one.

Ummm... I live in the Bible Belt. I've learned not to talk about my religion. It doesn't affect my work performance (I've never been asked my religion, and if I were, I'd probably tell the truth since I respect and like my co-workers), except on the mornings after a ritual when I'm a bit more groggy than usual. But I've learned to keep my religion to myself in most situations. I may be in college, but it's the most conservative college left in the US without actually being religiously affiliated. I keep a lot of my beliefs to myself, because I'm a coward at heart and don't want to have others question my life, like it's any of their business.

interesting answers i am reading. i think most missed the questions intent. your religious beliefs whether you are religious, spiritual or not thinking affect everything you do. if you don't have religious beliefs you will act accordingly, if you do that will direct you to act in a way that parallels your beliefs. so no matter what your belief system is, it affects how you interadt with others.

Well that's a good Q

In Islam the one who observe you is ALLAH, not any body else, so, you know where ever you go that you are monitored by ALLAH, so, you have to be the in charge of your self and every thing you do is counted for you or against you.
At the end you are the one to judge you self.

Hopefully they affect everything I do.
Because of my love for God I hope to be more patient, understanding, caring, forgiving, a good listener.
And live with integrity and honesty.

I feel that my belief makes me a more balanced individual, with high moral standards. As I do all things to please my God I do everything including work as though I am working directly for him.

wow, that's a good one!

i was kicked out of my father's house when i said that i'm a muslim, lost my job when i started wearing hejab, ''friends'' think i need to be ''liberated'' .......... ppl stare at me in malls coz of my hejab ........ a lady in a bookstore gave me a strange look yestedrday when i paused to take a look at Bible (probably thought i was making it ''unclean'' by respecting it)

BUT, then again, i have a loving and supporting husband, have my own business now, a wonderful son ......... and most of all i have FAITH

Of course my faith effects everything in my life. It should, otherwise I am just nothing more than a pew warmer.
