I have called my daughter Holly, and I am now aware that there are some surnames that do not go with it. She will have to be careful when choosing a future husband. Not an immediate problem as she is 2.

Like what? I don't see any problems with Holly.

I knew a Mary Christmas...that was dumb, but I see no issues with Holly.

Just remember, if the man she falls in love with has a last name that will not suit her.... she doesn't have to change her name!!!! Please don't teach her to "be careful when choosing a future husband" because she may end up with a bad name!!!!!

First one that comes to mind is Berry, or Leaf or Ivy. I really do not think that this is a problem and if she does indeed fall in love with an "unsuitable" so what. What is in a name compared to love????

Well there was Holly Goodhead from the bond film...always wondered if her middle name was 'Gives', seeing as Fleming was never subtle!

Anything Christmassy, including Christmas itself might become a joke. or anything that could follow Holy (pronouced different i know but looks similar)

I wouldn't worry too much! I'm sure she will be aware of this herself and see what names don't go with hers... but she has years to come! What if she's in love with someone who has a weird last name? Would you try to stop her?

Bush, Berry, Collie, Jolly....but most names will have at least one surname they won't go with, I think you're worrying about nothing!
