Robert ~
I think what happened is what was suppose to happen (according to Mayweathers camp) Carlos was never any challenge to Floyd. Baldomir had over 50 fights with only 13 knockouts, the guy had no punch to hurt Mayweather so they (Mayweather and his Promoter) sell "Carlos has a chin of granite" and the media was all over that. The real fight fans knew that this contest would end up the way it did, I wrote here in this forum weeks ago what would happen with the hope that somehow Baldomir would give Mayweather the beating he so desperately deserves.
Now Floyd said "One more and I'm done" I think that there's a lot more to this than he's admitting, my thought is he tasted only a hint of what true welterweight hits like and he doesn't like the taste, De La Hoya, Mosley, Margarito and a host of others that can crack would be standing in line to get a piece of Floyd and he (Floyd) wouldn't be able to keep handpicking opponents before he finally gets caught and exposed.
Who has Floyd faught that has really been in his prime and could punch? Gatti? Gatti has been standing on one leg for years. Judah? Judah was one over the most over hyped fighters ever. Castillo? Castillo who beat Mayweather in their first fight was robbed and mayweather was given a gift decision against a guy who practically had to kill himself to make the weight. The big Boys are calling and Floyd's not answering.

I so desperately wanted floyed to get knocked down on his pretty, arrogant, rump and it did not happen. baldomir's thirteen pound weight advantage didn't seem to help his power, just slowed him down. He couldn't seem to tag floyd, floyd just kept backing up the whole fight an pot shotting him just to stay ahead on points. Floyd really didn't seem like he wanted to engage, just kind of did what he had to do to stay ahead on points, like Roy jones Jr has done in the past. The fight bored me. The undercard fights were better....

It wasn't at all an exicting bout. Mayweather had a problem with his hand which prevented him going for the knockout. But I don't think we can critisise a great fighter because he had ONE bad fight. Everyone has a tough or not so good bout bout. But I can't wait for his fight with de la Hoya next year!!!

Called my cable company to get my money back. The only real drama was at the end when Merchant finally asked him what everyone who paid for that fight and went to see it live wanted to ask...instead of answering the question he attacked Larry Merchant and almost cried like a little Beotch!!!!

Mayweather should be arrested for pretending to be a fighter. He fights like a chicken. Or rather, a coward. He was so ahead on points, why didn't he go for the knockout?

baldomir was outclassed from the get-go in an embarrassing fashion, which i wished somebody would've either thrown in the towel, stopped the fight, gave up, etc..many will argue this was a work of art, but i can only watch so many rounds of pop-shots and little backward peddling with a little tat-here a little tat there.
