If you are a single white male, the back of a very long queue. Otherwise there are quite a few B&B hotels that will take you, if you are signing on the dole, some will even wait for your benifits to come in.

The Councils in Britain don't give a **** for the homeless. Being a taxpayer or British citizen won't help you at all - you'd be be better off if you were an asylum seeker.
We were threatened with homelessness (repossession) when I was 6 months pregnant and we were told the most we'd get was 6 weeks in a B&B because they consider mortgage repossession "intentional" homelessness. Even if you can't afford to pay because of job loss/illness.
And thats even with me being a "priority" case. they have to provide accomodation for priority cases but they just stick you in a B&B and as the law states pregnant women can't be in a B&B for more than 6 weeks thats all you get. After that you're on your own (6-7 years waiting list for a council house) and can sleep on the streets for all they care, they don't give a ****.
Luckily we are managing OK at the moment.
If you are not a "priority" case they will let you sleep on the streets.
But they're happy to house asylum seekers, immigrants and teen mums.
Dont come back here, this place is a fecking joke!

Depending on your situation.
If you do not have money and friends then try homeless hostels and charitys. Men are not entitaled to state help.
Contact 0870 383 3333 street rescue charity for help in london.
Also try others if you have web access.
Try yellow pages homless etc if emergancy.
Web links and charitys that can help.
http://www.ymca.org.uk/
http://www1.salvationarmy.org.uk
http://www.thamesreach.org.uk/what-we-do/on-the-street/
If you have friends phone them and room share. Try coach surfing if needed. Also look into hostels or YMCA as plan B.
Friends or family normaly will not let you sleep on the street so ask.
Rember men are not entitaled to emergency accomidation from the state. Women and men with dependents can ask for help.
Still plan on it taking days not hours for help.
Money makes it easyer but try friends first to get cheap place to stay then move on to flat shares, own flat when earning.
If you are a man after a flat off the state then you are out of luck.
Only the area you were living in before you left has to help!
State flats have 3-7 year waiting lists. No emergency accomidation for single men etc.
Women will be offered emergency accomidation then 1-5 year waiting lists.
I hope you do not need my emergancy advice and can sort out a warm room before you arrive.
All the best Comet.

Homes for you housing should help or contact the homeless welfare in your area, you can do this on the internet. www.homesforyou.co.uk. They will at least put you up in a shelter until you have somewhere to go. Good luck shame my house is full.x

Any mates still here? or did they have the common sense not to come back? Try the Salvation army? they are always preaching about how much good they do so, perhaps you flying back in they can put their faith where their heart is & help you out...well it is nearly Christmas!

You can go find the homeless unit in the area you used to live in. Whether they can help you will depend on your circumstances before you left the country though...

you haven't really explained what your situation is so giving you good advice would be hard. maybe stay where you are now, earn some money then stay in a b & b until you find a flat and work.
stay with friends? there are many websites with room mate adverts
