I had a roommate who would not buy her own food and would eat ours (my other roommate's and my food).
My other roommate and I bought ONLY the necessities and bought other food and brought it into our rooms. Most of the time we ate outside the home for a while. We didn't tell her we were doing this or storing our "good stuff" in our rooms.
This other roommate started buying her own food and storing it into her room "because she doesn't like the food we buy." She didn't like the BASIC foods we were buying because it was generic food and none of the "good stuff"(aka expensive and extras).

You spend $ on her food and don't ask for it back, that is on you. Why not just ask for the receipt and tell her you want to check it out? Maybe she is calculating the tax on your part of the groceries, and that is why your calculations are different.

just be real about it. imagine if you loose out on $100 each time. times that by 12 for each month and you land up being $1200 poorer. let her know her mistake and then justify it by showing her. don't feel bad to tell her what is going on. afterall you have to look out for yourself, because you are the only one able to do so. living with someone, even if it is family means having the guts to be honest and real with that person.

Tell her from now on you and her are going to calculate together. Then do it. If she wants certain foods, tell her what aisle it's located at in the store. She is free to go there and buy it herself.

Ahh.. share house living, what a f*cking joy it is! The only way is to do your own shopping or do it together. You could do shopping yourself and hit her up for her half but there will always be arguments.

if ur having a hard time telling her you think that she's cheating u, then y don't u go grocery shopping w/her or else let her buy her own groceries and u buy urs. if she miscalculates everytime there's a chance she knows what she's doing.

start eating her food (and tell her its half urs since u paid for part of it too) or do the calculating yourself and just tell her what u need to be paid back.
