a friend of mine has outlook, not sure if its 2000 or 2003....but his problem is , when he hover's the mouse over an email ( without evening opening the email itself) it will make the email into "read status" ..is there a way to turnt his off?

i guess he should check the mouse...

anyway, if he wants to remark the email as unread then he can simply move over the email, right click it, and choose "mark as unread"

If he has Outlook 2003, try this: Click on TOOLS>OPTIONS>READING PANE. Remove the check mark from the box that reads: "Mark item as read when selection changes". Click OK twice. You may need to close and re-open Outlook for it to take affect. That should do it!

Tools - Options - Other - Preview Pane (if its 200 / 2003) or Outlook Panes (if its 2007) and check the options in there.
