i tried winzip. but it is not so effective as we have to use only bytes . it will be easy if we use timeings

Use a software called VCD Cutter,do a search on it im sure u'll find it.it atually gives u the option of a starting point of the video and an ending point of the video.So,now u can cut a song out of a movie....Isn't it great.......

if u want to split a video file into smaller videos, then i highly recommend using windows movie maker which is normally found on windows xp....
however if you want to split the file into smaller chunks whilst preserving the file as being one file then ur solution would be to use winRar
