For a small group, use just a turkey breast instead of the whole turkey. Drape bacon across the top before roasting and you won't have to baste.
Stuffing - get the Arnold seasoned stuffing cubes and follow package directions including add-ins of sauteed celery and onion. Bake in a pan after turkey has been removed from oven.
For gravy, whisk together a can of cream of mushroom soup and enough chicken broth or pan drippings from turkey to make it the right consistency, warm it in a little pan on stovetop.
Green beans, frozen is fine.
Sweet potato casserole: Mix together 3 cups cooked mashed yams (you can get these vacuum packed at grocery or use the ones canned in syrup, drain and cut sugar back a bit in recipe), 1/3 cup sugar, 2 eggs, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 stick melted butter. Pour into greased casserole dish. Top with crumb mixture (1/2 cup brown sugar, 3 tbsp margarine, 3 tbsp flour - mix together til forms crumbs)
Bake 30 minutes at 350. If you want, instead of crumb mixture you can bake it plain and then top with mini marshmallow and pop back in oven until they're puffy (about 5 minutes)
Rolls, butter, cranberry sauce (don't forget to chill in advance!) and just bake a pumpkin pie that morning from the frozen food section of your grocer, have whipped cream or Cool Whip on hand... you're all set!
Timeline - bake pie in morning. Cook turkey. When turkey comes out, put sweet potatoes and stuffing into oven. Put green beans on top of stove and prep gravy. Pull stuff out of oven and while it sits briefly, slice turkey and cranberry sauce.
My first Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful, but I tried to do far too much and then fumed while my ex and his friend watched football and ignored me throughout the meal. I swore I'd never make another dinner again. I stomped out and by the time I cooled off and got home, they had the food away and dishes done. I decided it wasn't such a bad thing after all - lol Good luck!

The best Thanksgiving dinner is the one you share with friends. For ideas, check out foodnetwork, com and various other recipe spots. They will all have menu suggestions and recipes.
Have a joyous celebration and remember - it is the people, not the food, which make your T. Day special.

The best one, if possible, it's with parents, close relatives and friends you love. With such a delightful environment the food to be served is secondary. Relax. You'll do fine.
