I don't believe it is a problem for a pregnant woman to drink sodas but I do think most are recommended to only drink caffeine free ones. I'm putting some information I found in the source area.

Sometimes when fizzy drinks like this are left for more than 4 days un-refrigerated the glucose molecules can combine and will crystallise (β-glucopyranose) which is a definite choking hazard. I would be careful. Shake it about a bit first and listen out for something solid in there.

The caffeine isn't really good for you. That's what they worry about the most. If you have to have a soda, try to drink the decaffeinated types. I know they suck, but think about the fact that you're sharing your body with another person for this short time, and before you know it, you'll be able to drink what you want again!!!

Good luck!!!!

I was told by a midwife during my pregnancy that aspartime in fizzy drinks stopped your body absorbing iron. There is also the sugar content to think of as you have a higher risk of getting diabetes during pregnancy.

I have attached a link which you may find useful.

The best thing is to ask your doctor. My sister is pregnant, and het doctor told het to stay away from too much caffeine. Coffee, Coke, Tab, Pepsi. Either have one cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of coke in the afternoon, or 2 glasses of coke or 2 cups of coffee.

DRINKING COCA COLA ISN'T SAFE FOR ANYONE.

Caffeine, loads of sugar, acids - all kinds of nasty stuff in there.

Just limit it. 1 a day is plenty. I am 5 months, and I have 1 diet coke every morning..it gets me through the day, and it's better for you than coffee.
