We both have children from previous relationships. We set ground rules from the beginning and have had no problems. Make sure you get a parenting plan/child support in effect. Let the court set the ground rules if the parents cannot.

I guess it's something people have to learn to live with and adjust to.... It's mostly a result of lack of forethought, irresponsibility to some extent and the way we casually date mate these days... All of this with little regard to the possible outcomes... A child or numerous children... For many people, by the time they learn this lesson, the damage has been done... a child has been conceived and it needs support from both parents... The important thing is making sure the child gets it...

no. but my younger sister is. the mother butts in whenever she feels like it. her b/f has tried telling the mother to leave them alone, but she always tells him that as long as alicia is around she will b around it even went as far as my sister getting arested because the lady claimed my sister kidnapped her daughter, when all my sister did was pick the kid up from school at her b/f request and took her shopping. but liek i tell my sister never get invovled with someone who has so much baggage. sometimes you can find taht single parent where as the other half is not intruding.

There is nothing wrong with dating a man with kids. However, there should be set child payment and visitation agreements or the man will always be answering to the kid's mother. If there isn't a court-agreed child payment, forget it.

If you are dating someone that has children with someone else, and you DO NOT have children of your own, join Childless step moms. It is a support group on yahoo! groups. I am on there, and I can tell you that it is wonderful if you are in a situation that you are involved or married to a man that has kids and you dont. There is GREAT support there!

You should talk to your guy about it. Depends on the agreement...
and from what Im assuming based on what you said...

1. She has custody
2. He pays child support
3. She still has feelings for him?

Omitted what i said earlier, but the response stating you should set some ground rules should be your solution. That is if you don't mind it.
