No. There isn't the slightest scrap of evidence that a worldwide flood occurred. Nor is there any possible physical way to construct a wooden vessel the size described by the Bible without it cracking apart under its own mass in the water. Nor is there any reaonably possible way for such a vessel to be ventilated by a single tiny window. Or even have enough for two--or seven--of every species in the world. Or an even remotely believeable method for a handful of people to actually be able to take care of all the animals aboard the Ark for nearly a year.

Not to mention the many ancient civilizations like the Chinese and the Summerians who somehow managed to keep right of going and not even notice their own desrtruction.

The more you look closely at the tale, the more "Godmagic" you have to invoke in your effort to explain away the real-world problems of the story. Since there's no such thing as magic, it's safe to chaulk the entire story as fiction. A secondary creationist tale.

BTW: Yes, there are many civilizations that have tales of floods. Floods were a near-universal experience for our ancestors, so naturally they would be incorperated into mythologies. What the Creationists convienently overlook is the wide variety of differences between all the flood stories...the number of survivors ranges from two to entire tribes, the details of the source of the floods and the motives of the gods that cause them are all different, etc... The only commonality of the tales is the involvment of a lot of water.

The story of Noah and the flood happened before the story of Moses and Moses wrote the history of everything told to him by God and shared the ten commandments.

As for the animals the pandas got sun burnt on the boat the asian and grey elephants came from the white elephants and same with the tigers and they ate the burnt chimpmunk.

I wasnt sure to take you seriously or not so i gave you a serious and non serious answer.

Also the flood helps explain the idea that the world was once one big country in the middle of the ocean since they all connect like a a puzzle piece. If tons and tons of water covered it im sure it was cause it to break apart.

It seems you have only HEARD the tabloid version and have not even bothered to read the BOOK where it is recorded!

>Because, wouldn't all the stuff about Big Adam and Eve,
>Holy Moses, Abe and Ike and all the earlier myths have been
>destroyed?

Probably they gathered their books and put them aboard the Ark!

>Was the 10 commandments on the boat too?

You have no chronological concept of our early history?
The two tablets of Law were given to Moses MANY YEARS AFTER the Flood; so, how would they have been on the Ark?

>And if he only got 2 of each why did he kill one of each to thank
>Ole God for not killing him??

If you read the account in the BOOK, you would have seen that some kinds of animals came in two-by-two AND SOME by sevens!

there is not any info that the Egyptians and chinese language have been even alive in the process the flood, because of the fact God did no longer confuse their languages until eventually after the flood. in certainty, no longer that many human beings have been alive in the process the flood. in all probability might have basically have stuffed one or 2 international places. so definite, the flood DID take place. I understand why you will possibly doubt it because of the fact you're an atheist. i'm getting that because of the fact of you call. yet i'm 13 and that i understand my faith and my Bible. so yeah.... :)

YES it did during time of the prophet Noah who's possibly the first prophet after Adam was sent to Earth. And yes he took a pair of each kind of animal and the people that beleived him. This happen long before Moses was even born. Noah didn't kill any animals after the flood nor God ever wanted to kill him. Noah's son refused to get on the boat when the flood started and seeked refuged at high mountain and died. In the process Noah prayed God to save his son but God said to him don't consider him his son he's a bad soul. This is not a myth it is true story.

well nobody can prove it because it happened so long ago. while i am not an expert, i do know that many religions have some sort of great disaster that wiped the earth clean. because its rooted in so many cultures history (even african tribes and aborigines) this may suggest that something like this could have happened........

oh according to christians, the flood came way after adam and eve, but before the others......10 commandments were not "created" yet..........

if you assume this is true....at this time.....there may have been only one species of tiger, elephant, and panda.......but because they were taken from there natural habitat and moved someplace else......they evolved to take of advantage of their new homes.........basically they are the same species just with a few minor differences caused by different environment......

It actually happen as have explained in the National Geographic channel, it just flooded as the barrier between lowland and highland collapsed thus the flooding of the lowlands was so gigantic that it is now the Dead Sea.

Noah was much ahead of time than Moses, thereby no Commandments had exist yet.

Noah got all the domesticated animals at that time.

As have explained, the great flood was just a small portion on earth but a great deluge for the immediate residence.

A burnt chipmunk is a burned chipmunk and it for us to share it or not :o).

Really happened, though as to covering the whole world is questionable. There are flood myths all over the world, in every culture. Greek, Japanese, Chinese, German, Scandinavian, they all have flood myths that state the world was saved by two people in a boat by their dieties grace and warning. They all bring animals on their boat. There was even evidence in the Sphinx about a great flood (discover channel, few years back). Whether there was one flood, or several floods in different areas, is anyone's guess. But all the myths have the same elements.

It's incredible to read these individuals who glibly state that it happened. A few facts that should be noted-we don't find fish fossils at the tops of mountains-there isn't enough water on the planet to cover the entire land mass so a universal flood is an impossibility. If there is no evidence supporting it disbelieve it-if religionists want to indulge in supernatural fantasies that's up to them.

I'm guessing there was some kind of flooding in the Middle East thousands of years ago, since there are deluge stories in multiple cultures. But, just like all other ancient tales, it widely varies from people to people. "Making a mountain out of a mole hill" is a term most aptly applied to myths and legends.
